Hello, and welcome to my
website. To answer the spelling of my name question, my name
is spelled Scot (with only one T) not Scott. I'd love to tell
you that there's a cool story as to how that came to be but
it was simply a misspelling on my birth certificate ... and it
stuck. Another common question I get asked is "why do you
call your work Sculptures in Limestone"? Well, I truly have
not found a better way to describe what it is that I do.
Please take a peek at my process page to see how it's all done.
It is often said that, "Artists are a dime a dozen." That
being said, I am especially grateful, lucky, and humbled to be
able to make my living as an artist. I started this "full time"
venture in 2000 after working for nearly 20 years in the paper
industry. I've been an artist my whole life but never really
dreamed that this could someday be my occupation. I've always
painted, worked with paper and even sculpted, but what I
consider to be my greatest artistic gift has always been
drawing. My art drastically changed after discovering the
limestone material that is now my trademark. Working in this
medium has pushed me to new creative heights and more
importantly GOT ME OUT OF THE PAPER INDUSTRY! As I often tell
my friend, "It sure beats workin'!"
Thanks for stopping in. Feel free to look around and if
at any point you have any questions don't hesitate to call or
send an email. Make sure to sign up for the email mailing
list so I can let you know when I will be in your area.
Peace,
Scot |
